Heartbroken

At the deli, two pokemon sat at the booths (excluding a wasted Phil who was nearby) with stacks of mugs surrounding one of the pokemon. It was late at night, but the deli was open 24/7. Everyone else had gone to sleep...

"Ryu, you're wasted, dude! You gotta come home and get some sleep!" Mo whined while poking Ryu repeatedly. "I don't- hic- care..." Ryu muttered between hiccups. "Why are you so bummed out anyway? Did something happen?" Ryu turned to Mo, causing him to stop poking Ryu.
"It's BEEN happening! You and Honey! That's what's been happening!" he shrieked, knocking over a few glasses. "Honey and I?" Mo said, clueless. "I've been jealous of you for as long as I could remember!! You two were inseparable, and now that you're together... GAH!" Ryu explained while knocking over more glasses, which the waiter didn't seem to care about.

"Ryu, I had no idea!" Mo said, having a more serious but surprised tone. "I know! That's why I feel so damn guilty about being mad at you!" Ryu replied before hiccuping more. "But what about Ume? You were head over paws for her, right?" Mo asked. Ryu looked down. "...She dumped me before she had to relocate her business..." he murmured. "Ryu, it's probably for the best... long distance relationships don't work out," Mo explained. Ryu snapped his fiery glance back at Mo. "You know what she said to me!? It was the meanest thing she could have said!!" he shrieked before face-planting into the counter. "Could you explain the whole thing...?" Mo cautiously requested. Ryu lifted his head and looked back at him. "Alright... it was around the beginning of summer..."

Ume had wanted to see me at her shop, so I went around noon... I had assumed she needed help with errands so I was pretty relaxed. Either that, or it was the fact that it was the start of the hottest season of the year; what fire type couldn't love that? Once I walked into her shop, she looked really depressed. I asked her what was wrong, and all she said was she needed to talk to me. Ume led me to the field nearby, which was filled with flowers...

"Ryu... I'm relocating to another region. Business here isn't going so well," Ume explained. "Really? Is it far from our region?" Ryu asked. "It's across the ocean, so we won't be able to keep in touch... which is another issue I want to discuss..." she replied. Ryu waited patiently for her to continue. "...We shouldn't be together anymore."
Ryu nearly stopped breathing, and struggled to stay calm. "W-Why?" he asked.
Ume turned away as if to just walk off without a reply. "Maybe with me out of the way, you can go after Honey..." she said before quietly walking away, tears hitting the flowers that her fur brushed. Ryu just sat there, tears streaming from his face, making his fur slightly sizzle. "W-Wait, Ume!" he finally said. "Why do you think I still like Honey?!" he asked. Ume stopped and turned around. "I've seen the way you look at her, even when she and Morgan got together! You don't just 'like' her, Ryu..." she said before running off. Ryu collapsed, attempting to dry his tears before passing out.

I'm surprised I woke up before you guys started getting worried. I was afraid that I might have gone into a coma from shock... Scout's the only other pokemon that knows about this, other than you, Morgan.

Mo sat there with shock filling his eyes. It took awhile for him to realize how badly hurt somebody like Ryu was before he started crying. "Dude, all this happening to you... I feel like total trash right now..." Mo muttered. "It's not your fault... it's my own fault for not being able to control my own feelings," Ryu said, having snapped out of his drunken state earlier. They stared at each other for awhile before finally speaking again. "Don't worry, dude... you'll find somebody!" Mo said with a smile even though he was still crying a little. "Heh... that's a slim chance. I'm sure half the females here are scared of me!" Ryu exclaimed. "If Scout could find somebody, you can too! I'll help ya out of your mess! You're my bro after all!" Mo shrieked happily, with both their tears finally gone. "Fine, as long as you don't set me up on a dating website, I'm fine with that," Ryu said with a small smile, which was rare for him.

"Great! What kind of a girl do ya like, then?"
"As long as they aren't annoying as hell, I'm fine with anyone..."
"So that means-"
"I'M NOT A PEDOPHILE, MORGAN!!"
"OK, just making sure, dude!"

The two walked out laughing, which Ryu hadn't done since his childhood. If they weren't completely different types, one could mistake them for actual brothers.
